Default Unreconciled Layer Notification Does Not Go Away

I recently upgraded from Civil 3D 2014 to Civil 3D 2017. One of the differences I am noticing is that the 'Unreconciled Layers' notification does not disappear once the layers are reconciled, whereas it used to disappear in previous releases. I am just wondering if others have experienced the same thing? Is there a setting somewhere that controls this?

If you still have your previous version, compare the LAYEREVAL, LAYEREVALCTL, and LAYERNOTIFY sysvars.

If there's a separate issue with 2017's install, this will not fix it, but it might help you to rule out something simple.
