    Default XREF MASTER SITE

    Hi there people

I am working with several sheets on a project. Each sheet will contain different information.
Ex: E-101 SITE PLAN, E-102 STRING WIRING, E-103 COMMUNICATION etc.

So i wanted to know...if will be a better practice to put all elements of the project related to each sheet on the XREF MASTER SITE or
put each elements related on his respective sheet?

I know that all elements on a same place will be a freezing of layers on each sheet....but maintaining elements on each sheet will not.

what will be the best practice to do this... or how the industry works?

My 2 cents: keep stuff that will be physically built in your XREF MASTER SITE and add your notes in the individual sheet files.

PS - near as I can tell, there's no such thing as "industry standard"

That's how I work, when working in ACAD (rather than Revit). I've seen more civil/site projects that use the one file approach, but I work in architecture and find it just muddies up the files. I think the piece that confuses me with your question is that your file is named "XREF MASTER SITE" ... what's the point of an XREF, if everything is in one file?

I am just giving you an example of the name. But in reality we tend to name it MASTER SITE PLAN...that file we attache it as a xref on all sheets we work with.
