Welding symbols for welded assemblies
Summary: When you create a weld in assembly the symbol for that exact weld should be able to add in selected drawing view(s) by showing the weld.
Description: When you create a weld in assembly the symbol for that exact weld should be able to add in selected drawing view(s) by showing the weld.
Presently you have to figure out the weld when you do it in assembly and again when do a drawing - it's doing the same thing twice for no reason at all.

Re: Welding symbols for welded assemblies
If I'm understanding you correctly, the functionality you're looking for is already built into (at the very least) the 2015 release, probably earlier. When you use the weldment environment in Inventor, you're able to not only generate the modeled weld itself, but a corresponding symbol in the model (you can control visibility of these symbols in the model on a click and right-click basis). Then, when you're working in a view in the drawing environment, AS LONG AS, in the view dialog, the Model State/Weldment is set to "Welds" or "Machining", you can include these symbols without having to rethink the weld or look back at the model. You'll see there are two checkboxes next to the Welds option. If you check the "Model Welding Symbols" box, all of your model-created welding symbols will populate the view, and you can then delete any unnecessary ones for the view.

This wish has been reported as granted and already in the software.
