Default Importing point cloud into revit

Hi we have this project in Revit and we need to model an old brick factory. The reference given is a point cloud. The client wants us to model the factory to look exactly the same as the point cloud. Now, my question is, how to convert point cloud into 2d cad or how will i lessen the points so that when imported in revit it will not slows down my modelling? Cause right now it is really slow because of the many points imported from point cloud.

Do you have access to ReCap or Edgewise (ClearEdge 3D)? It's possible to clean up the point cloud in those programs. The other option is to use section boxes in a 3D view as much as possible to limit the area of the point cloud as you're modeling. Unfortunately, file size of point clouds tend to be massive, and other than creating a courser scan from the start (and possibly losing info), it's pretty much a given that you'll need increased graphics and performance to work with them.
It requires a very unusual mind to undertake the analysis of the obvious.
