Hi,
I have created a tool palatte for my design team. It contains blocks, hatches, and polylines etc.
I have several polylines defined each of which creates:
- a layer with a specific name
- that layer set to a specific color (as in, color set to "bylayer")
- the layer set to a specific line type
What i need to do is change the default layer color for that layer. I don't want to change the object color so right clicking on the tool palette object, selecting properties and changing the color isn't the answer i'm looking for.
I created the palette object by having a library file with the polyline drawn within it, on its named layer with the layer color set. I then copy and pasted it to the tool palette. I figured i could just change the layer color within that library file and the change cascades through to the tool palette the next time the command is chosen, however this doesn't happen. I have quite a few lines on the palette so manually deleting and re-pasting them to the palette would be a nightmare.
The same issue applies to changing the layer name, and i presume to all layer settings although i haven't tried other settings.
Am i missing something here?? It should be simple but can't figure out how to change the layer color of the layer that the tool palette creates.
Please help!
