Is it possible to connect an air terminal directly to a duct fitting?
I created a duct fitting in which one end connects to a rectangular duct and the other end has a 45 degree opening. (FYI, for simplicity sake, the fitting I created is specifically for a 46x26 sized duct. I do not have the time right now to make the fitting parametric). I need to close the 45 degree opening with a return air grille. However, I believe that since the fitting is under the "duct fitting" category, I cannot attach the grille directly to it.
This is my work around. I currently have a duct connector on the 45 degree opening. I simply extend a small portion of duct off of the 45 degree opening and then attach the grille to the open end of that duct extension. I then delete the duct extension and move the grille to the 45 degree opening. This gives it a cleaner and more realistic look. See screen shots more detail. I am thinking that there is a setting on either the grille, the duct fitting or the duct connector that can be changed to get the result I am looking for without having to use the work around.
Of course, as always, all comments and suggestions are appreciated!!!
