    Default Label profile

Does anyone have, or know of a place where I can get, a routine to label a point on a profile.
I would like to be able to pick a point give the reference station and elevation and then station and elevation of a point on the profile and have it label that point with the station elev.

    Thanks very much

If the ground profile is already drawn and you need to know the stationing and elevation at a certain point, just set ucs origin to zero at the start point with reference to the given elevation at the start point. Use the command dimordinate and pick the point in the profile. Vertical ordinate at that particular point is the distance from the start point and the horizontal ordinate is the elevation from your zero origin. Just add the distance to the given stationing at the start point and you get the stationing at that point. It works for me in ten years of roadway designing although I'm in the bridge designing now.

I hope it also works for you.

    Happy computing!
