worksharing monitor slows Revit performance

When running the worksharing monitor 2017, the performance of the local copy revit model is painfully slow. If I close down the worksharing monitor, the performance of the Revit model improves to normal. The system performance monitor shows the virtual memory and the physical memory at 27% and 34% used respectively. A speed test.net shows 50 Mb per second download and 11 Mb per second upload. Any thoughts?

I'm running Revit 2017 on Windows 10 using parallels in 11 on an iMac and connecting to a Windows small business server 2011 VPN connection.

This doesn't surprise me, since WS Monitor is just another node for thte "Central Model" to communicate with. We have had related issues of it taking a long time for WS Monitor to load. This is related to competing applications running at the same time, e.g. Dropbox
