Default C3d and Geolocation vs. CAD-Earth

I've been using Geolocation for aerial and satellite images. It pulls images from Bing, and the image quality is only so-so. Has anyone used CAD-Earth? An advertisement looks pretty good. I'd like to see some opinions while I look into this. Thanks.

Check with your State DOT or County GIS.property appraiser, In FL that seems to be the best source. Georgia -- not so much

You have to remember, the better the image, the bigger the file and the slower the response in CAD.
With Bing Images, I have found it is easiest to use "Capture Viewport" on a VP specific layer and then go into MS and enlarge the image slightly and change the resolution to Very Fine provides good results for what we use them for (4K to 10K acre aerials)

I agree with what's been said the quality is so-so but you cannot beat how easy and quick it is, also the size is a non issue. The thing we found is on our large pipeline projects to make multiple clips of smaller sizes and when you do your overall sheet or the quality will be better than if you just clipped your image at the overall size needed. We have also grabbed any aerial data we could such as SID files from the county GIS site if available or Datagateway. I use the lizardtech free version to size and place with some success... Not to hijack the thread but does anyone else have issues with it not being available lately? Since Oct./Nov. multiple users at our office go to use the feature and appear to be signed in only to have no map show up, nothing in the mapstatus bar for coordinates. Logging off and back in and restarting program/computer only fix the issue sometimes. Then randomly an hour or few hours later the aerials turn on and show up.

For certain applications, we are using Plex.Earth. It imports Google Earth images with good results.

Not to continue the hijacking, but I"ve seen this, too. Fortunately, for me, it hasn't happened with a project that I've really needed the image.

Well I was able to locate a fix for the issue with the map not appearing posted by Autodesk. It was in the Autocad help

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...n-in-A360.html

    Update to the Update:
Instead of renaming the whole entire web services folder, which it wouldn't let me do because it said it was in use, I went into the top folder in the webservices called A360 and deleted that .xml
When I came back into C3D it was signed out and then I signed in and the aerials work like they are supposed to......Interestingly enough I have the Beta on here and it has never had an issue with the A360 or Webservices.
