    Default XREF DOESN'T PRINT C3D OBJECTS AS DISPLAYED

    I have a drawing which I have attached an xref containing c3d objects. I also have the surfaces and alignments dref'd into that drawing. The objects appear correct when looking at the layout (grey dashed lines for contours, etc). When I print the c3d objects (surfaces/profiles) print as black solid lines. None of my printing settings have changed and this is the first drawing I have had this problem with. How can I fix this?

    Go into your XREF that has the respective item, and confirm the settings on the Display tab for that C3D Object's Style.

    As example: Select Surface, right click select Edit Surface Style... menu item, Display tab, confirm [Major/Minor/User] Contour color is in fact the appropriate layer, color, etc.

    Once you've confirmed the Style is correct, verify that you do not have any Viewport/XREF Overrides in the host (sheet) drawing for said XREF.

    I had the styles set correctly, but I had attached the xref to my main drawing before my engineer created the profile. The new layers had the the correct settings, but the parent layer was wrong. I finally gave up and detached the xref and reattached it. The layers then had the correct settings and appear correctly. Thanks for the help

    Another solution that worked for me was making the following:

    VISRETAIN = 0

    XREFOVERIDE = 0
