Default Use profile to trim floor slab edge?? How did he do that?

If you take a look at no.6 posting on by aaronrumple he appears to have used a profile to trim, chamfer-wise, the edge of his floor slab. How did he do that? Or is it a trick with more than one floor?

I have since learnt that it is possible to edit the bottom of walls using Type Properties - Edit Assembly - Modify. This would do ut but it does not seem to be possible for floors. ??

It’s a slab edge. Create a profile (slab edge), load it to your project and apply new profile to the slab edge in the type properties (expand floor icon to get to the s.e.). Apply to the floor by picking the floor edges and then join the floor with s.e. to remove a joint line between alike materials, the insulation in this case.

    Thanks PijPiwo

I tried that and I just get the 'One element is completely inside another.' error message. I'm sure it is something simple I am overlooking.

I have tried the insulation family sized to sit on top of the insulation in the floor, I've tried it sized to reach the bottom of the insulation in the floor. I have set the materials to be the same.

If I unjoin the materials when I get the error message the insulation sits in the right place but it does not break the lines of the concrete layers in the floor.

    OHH!

If I unjoin them and then join them again it works! Duh! I should have realised in Revit it is never as straight forward as it would seem to be.

Thanks again for reasuring me I was on the right track.
