Default Automatic fields that are view-specific

Is it possible to set up a parameter that will update any reference to a view-specific item within a text box.

For example, if I want to reference detail 11/A5.1 within a note in Autocad, I could just use fields (CTRL + F) and update the SHEETVIEW as 11 and the SHEETSET as A5.1. Any changes to the view number would update the note automatically (although the sheet still needs to be manually updated, but that's for another discussion in another forum).

Does the View Reference object give you what you're after? You can find it on the annotate tab of the ribbon. Once the desired reference is entered the field should automatically update if the view sheet or detail number changes.
It isn't a 'field' available as part of text entry but a separate object.
