    Default Complex linetypes

I am looking to have a linetype that can create the look of a keystone wall with a fill in.
I've tried creating this with express tools but the results are disturbing.
What appears is a linetype that doesn't put the shape next to the preceding one leaving gaps and short lines.
It also appears very jagged even though it looks good on the screen when I create it.
In addition, to all of this the shapes that do appear on my polyline are flip flopped from side to side.
(Image a polyline in the shape of a snake and the face of the keystone wall flips from side to side)

I recall I submitted a wish back about 10 years ago but I still don't see any AutoCAD improvements to linetypes.
Does anyone have a solution for creating keystone walls on a polyline?

    Thanks
    Brian

Rather than a linetype, have you tried using an array path?

I've tried the AutoCAD measure command but not an array.
Does that have the ability to keep things lined up and smooth?

So I've tried the array, which is similar to measure, but it doesn't maintain the block symmetry.
The intent is to have a polyline follow a path for a keystone wall and be able to quickly display it by linetype or array if that works.
It should take about 15 minutes to put all the walls in by polyline and show a pattern, it currently can take over an hour to do this.

Yes, you can have the arrayed items aligned along the path of the line used to define the path. You can adjust the repeat distance and edit the path. If the path is a polyline the items will follow radially around curves.

I use this any time I need a series of equally spaced items that follow an alignment, without them becoming individual items. Example: an array of traffic cones to channel traffic. Easily redefine the path and repeat as if it were a linetype, yet not reduce the size of the items repeated if I need them closer together.

I've also used it to make a one-off special 'linetype' ... like an ice pipe. (used to fill fishing vessels with ice from the ice plant) I arrayed the word "ICE" in an Mtext with a background along a continuous line.

    Attach file is an example.

The location of the item in relation to the path it follows is kind of critical. I chose the alignment just behind the face of the block where the tips of the block meet. This allows the array to follow concave and convex curves correctly.

I've made several attempts to have the block follow the curve but it will not stay on the curve. It places blocks along the curve on tangent and that will just not work.
This is a professional program and I can't have it looking like a cartoon. If only Autodesk could put some developers on this to make it less time consuming.

    Thanks for your help

Sometimes making a survey figure and placing additional markers give you a decent result too.

Asking Autodesk to be responsive is Hopeful at best. Not going to happen in timely fashion is more realistic

Polyline properties - Linetype generation - Disabled / Enabled - helps with the gaps and short lines?
