Question Navisworks - Reference Plan Arrow Disappears

I find the reference plan in Navisworks to be indispensable for communication during the coordination process. In all of my screenshots, I keep the reference plan in frame, to give a better idea of the location of the screenshot, using the handy arrow that follows my viewpoint.
My problem is that, in some models, the arrow becomes a tiny dot, as soon as my viewpoint leaves perfectly horizontal. In the ‘walking’ mode, as soon as I tip the camera up or down, the arrow is gone. This is shown in the two attachments.
I have seen this since, at the latest, Navis 2015, so this is not a new happening. It does not seem to be driven by sectioning or by the elevation of the viewpoint.
Does anyone have any insight to offer? If I could figure out what causes this in some models and not in others, I might be able to figure out how to prevent it. Is there a setting in my Navisworks that can increase the angle at which the arrow is visible? Does anyone else use these reference plans?

I have seen them used, but when I try it the project view it always from too far away to be useful to me. There must be something that I don't know about setting up the view.

I have not seen the behavior that you describe though in my meetings when viewing someone else's screen.

    Steve,
I usually set up a perspective view looking from the top down, rotated so plan North is at the top, and zoomed in to show only the building. I then save that view as "Reference Plan View," and, when I need to reset the view... right-click the reference plan, Look From > Current Viewpoint. I have attached a screenshot.

I use similar approach (saving all floor plans as reference plans looking from top in orthographic mode) and I find it very helpful in navigating the model knowing exactly where I’m or even manually moving the arrow to an exact location in the reference plan that i want to review in the perspective scene view.
I only get this dot rather than the arrow when the camera is aligned to Z direction(i.e. the reference plan view and the scene view are identical) but for all other camera alignments it works fine.

    Ali,
Thank you very much for your response. You just triggered something in my brain that seems to have fixed this (or at least made it less of an issue).
My post above is incorrect in that I actually have been using an orthographic top down view to create my reference plan. As a test, I recreated the same view, but set to perspective, when I saved.
After updating the reference plan from the perspective view, the arrow is available much more often.
    Upshot:
Update the reference plan from a _perspective_ top view, to lessen the disappearance of the arrow.

Does anyone know if this functionality is available in BIM 360?
