I find the reference plan in Navisworks to be indispensable for communication during the coordination process. In all of my screenshots, I keep the reference plan in frame, to give a better idea of the location of the screenshot, using the handy arrow that follows my viewpoint.
My problem is that, in some models, the arrow becomes a tiny dot, as soon as my viewpoint leaves perfectly horizontal. In the ‘walking’ mode, as soon as I tip the camera up or down, the arrow is gone. This is shown in the two attachments.
I have seen this since, at the latest, Navis 2015, so this is not a new happening. It does not seem to be driven by sectioning or by the elevation of the viewpoint.
Does anyone have any insight to offer? If I could figure out what causes this in some models and not in others, I might be able to figure out how to prevent it. Is there a setting in my Navisworks that can increase the angle at which the arrow is visible? Does anyone else use these reference plans?
