    Default scaling drawings dimensions

I have imported an assembly, about 150 parts, it is drawn to scale (1:1, real world) but I need it in 1/2 scale. I know an assembly can be scaled by deriving it and setting the scale to1/2 but that seems cluggy to me and creates a lot of extra unneeded files. Is there a better way.

What I actually need is the drawings giving dimensions at 1/2 scale without going in and changing them all one at a time from the full sized dimensions. Either scaling the assembly or the drawings works.

My first question is what do you mean by 1/2 scale dimensions? Do you mean you literally want to see a dimension that is, say, 10' show up as 5', or are you wanting to make the text size of the dimension half as big?
