    Default Sheet Index

    Hello.

I have an issue with the Sheet Index Table from the Sheet Set Manager. Once inserted, the index does not display all sheet numbers and titles; two days prior I inserted a new one, and it worked fine. See attached pictures for clarification. This problem is infuriating, because I don't believe I've changed any relevant settings at all. Any ideas?

Any chance the SSM file was moved, or copied and the index insertion is pulling from an old version of itself?

I found it hard to move a SSM file that was created in the wrong place. Any dwg file that was part of the SSM would keep rewriting the file back to the old location. Its a weird co-dependency.

The SSM file, and every other for this project, was created in a project folder. I should mention that the issue is associated only with two (2) .DWGs that have four (4) layouts per model; other .DWGs with multiple layouts aren't affected. Short of scrapping and re-creating the sheets, I'm not sure how to solve this mystery.

probably not lot of scrapping involved -- just delete the 'sheet' in SSM, and re-import the layouts

Didn't work, and I figured out why. If the "#" character was detected in the sheet title, the Sheet Set Manager will automatically override both the Sheet Number and the Sheet Title to display only the digit which appears after the "#".

Moral of the story: Don't use "#" anywhere in your Sheet Set Manager.

Not sure if this helps but..
What we've been doing for a many years now, at different companies I've worked for:
Place the "sheet number" in the sheet title field
Place "drawing number" in the sheet number field, and
Place the "sheet title" in the description field.

These are all built-in SSM fields, and it makes it easy to control sheets and transfers to the sheet index table as well.
We use an "X" as a drawing number place-holder early on in the projects.

I see what you mean, and that's exactly what I'd done. That's part of the reason why I was so confused and frustrated. The sheet title itself contained the "#" character.
