    Default animated assembly in assembly

    Dear formum members,

I have made a IAM with moving parts (rotating / liniar).
I would like to use this assembly (mechanism) 3 times in a other assembly.
When I place the assembly (mechanism) in a new IAM the assembly cannot be moved anymore. It became 1 object and functionality is lost.
How can be achieved that all three IAM's work independant in the new collecting assembly?
I have tried to give all three other names but no succes.

    Please help

Try right clicking on the assembly and choosing Flexible.

Tried that but is not working. The assembly is selected completely and I cannot move the parts.

You might be applying Flexible to the wrong part. Don't choose the whole subassembly, just the part that is movable.

Without seeing your files, I have a some questions...

Is your assembly driven by Positional Reps?
Are the constraints for these Pos Reps suppressed appropriately?

If you cannot post the files, or a simplified version of them, can you send a screenshot of the top level assy browser expanded to show the problem sub-assembly?
