Contours not working

Hi, I'm new with civil 3d.

I have a problem creating surfaces. I have already create some surfaces from contours with no problem, but today I recived a countours file from an architect and I'm traying to do the surface but is not working. The surface stays flat. What is wrong with this countours? Any idea?

Mistake 1. Relying on an architects plan to be correct.

Look to make sure that there are elevations assigned to the lines that you used to create your surface. If there are no elevations assigned to the lines go back through and manually update them.

I already create the surface and two alignments crossing each other. I draw the profile of one of them and I would like to know in the profile the point where this two alignments cross. Do you understand my question? Sorry for my bad english.

This is a bit more tricky. I believe, you can do this by creating a profile horizontal geometry point label style style using the Reference Text Feature and Selecting Alignment.

You can also use the Inquiry Tool to get information about station and offset points on an alignment.
