    Question Wye problem

    Hello everyone.
    So recently I had a problem with a wye family.
    I have a System Pipe that is ABS SCH 40, and I use Pipe Fittings from Charlotte, BUT I made a Wye that is Equal and Reducing at the same time and it works fine with all Diameters, actualy it works very well if I don't use Slope on the pipe de problem comes when I use slope and I try to connect a pipe that is above of the other one, I use Revit 2014, and I select the option "Ignored Slope to connect" and it connects BUT what it does is that it puts an elbow 45 running down and puts an elbow down that receives him and then connects to the wye, I used other wyes and with the others the wye rotate, so I want to Know how to configure my wye to be able to rotate so it connects directly with the elbow running down. I put some Images.Vista planta.jpgVista Corte.jpgVista planta2.jpgVista Corte2.jpg

    Default Re: Wye problem

    Ivan,

    I have encountered an issue like this when sloping pipe before. I practically drove myself crazy, modifying the family. Testing my changes, modifying the family and testing my changes. It felt like I could never get it. I have a few wye families that do something similar to me too.

    The best way I found to keep Revit from 'being too smart', it to;
    1. Draw the pipe with slope
    2. Place a wye fitting
    3. Delete the pipe on the side that gets elbowed
    4. Select the wye, right click and select the "Draw Pipe" and make sure it is sloped.

    I hope this helps!
