Section Cut View Template

Is there a way to assign a default view template to a section cut? I already created a section view template, but when I cut a section I then have to go to View Templates and assign it to the section I just cut. I would rather that view template be a default for every section I cut.

Since we are on the topic, I know this has been an issue for many people... the Far Clip Offset. Is there a way to control the distance as a default, say 5 feet, instead of the 1000' I normally get?

I figured it out.

1. Cut a section as you normally would.

2. While you are in the section view, got to Edit Type on your Properties Palette.

3. Under the Identity Data section you will see "View template applied to new views". It should say "None". By selecting that button, you will be directed to an "Apply View Template" window which will list all the view templates that can apply to a section. Select the template that you want and click OK. This view template will now apply to any section you cut.

Note, the section you cut to get to Edit Type will not immediately change to the view template you selected. It will apply for any new section going forward. Also, as mentioned from my initial post, I already created a view template for sections, so before you start with step 1 you will have to create a section view template. The template you create will then be listed as you get to step 3.

@scott462074 If you looking for the depth of the clip try looking for 'view depth' in the instance properties
