cross hairs gone wild

strangest thing. came in this morning, started civil3d. opened the drawing i need to work on. the cross hairs are acting funny. i have hardware acceleration on and when the they (cross hairs) are stationary, a blue donut continuously flashes on and the off over and over. Plus the cross hairs kinda of flicker. after much searching and trying different suggested solutions, the one that worked was changing work spaces. i changed to another work space and the problem went away. i then went back to the previous work space and everything seems to be okay.

I did exit the program and rebooted the machine a couple of times before switching work spaces.

I've read in more than one place that this is a solution, but I've never seen it work in person.

That's the one that worked for me. Switching the View did the trick, didn't matter if I switched to or from Master View. Hasn't been an issue for past two months, now to find the solution to random crashes when snapping to Civil 3D objects.
