AutoCAD stopped working

Hi All,
today I tried to open .dwg format files and got a 'AutoCAD stopped working' box appear.
Re-booted the computer and still getting the same error.

AutoCAD has been working fine since I began to use it......I'm running Windows 8.1

Any help appreciated

I'm on 2016, too, but, Windows 10 and haven't had this error before.

Do any of the suggestions here work for you?

Any chance your computer just pushed a windows update? Rumor has it .net framework 4.7 is causing issues with some autocad installations. You'd want to make sure that it hasn't been installed and roll it back if necessary.
