Linear light fixture Illuminates Like Sphere

I've created a linear light fixture family, but when rendered it illuminates as if it were a point, not linear. The light source definition emit light from shape is linear. Any ideas on why this is happening?

You may have your Emit from Shape set to Linear, but what about your Light distribution? Should be in the same dialog box towards the bottom. Could you also upload the family for us to look at?

Thx. The light distribution is set to hemispherical. I don't see how to Post my light family here.

you can post a family by clicking 'Go Advanced' at the bottom of the reply text box and then scrolling down to the attachments section.

Thx. On a fluke I rendered the image at a higher resolution and the light pattern displays properly. Then I rendered it back at draft quality and the light pattern appears as a sphere. This unanticipated behavior sounds like something Autodesk should fix.
