Default Creating Pipe Cut Length Tag

    Hello all,

I am trying to create a tag that will give the dimension of a section of pipe from end to end (including the part that is inside the fitting). I am relatively new to revit and im a little lost on this one. If there is already a tag that can do that or if you have a way, Please give me some advice.

    Thanks

So I think you'll need to create a separate parameter inside of the pipe family to include the extension. I'm not sure how much "Embedded Thread Length" is require. I've also never played with Piping so I'm not sure what it does at connections, all I know is the contractor guys that prefab the stuff say they still can't use revit to prefab yet as revit tends to leave little gaps in places. But if you have a Parameter that read is a formula of Length + Start Embed + End Embed and you have instance based Start and End Embed lengths, make that parameter shared and you can tag that. Is that the issue you're having?
