    Default Lines changing color

Does anyone know why lines would change color on their own? Mine went from Cyan (color 4) to Grey (color 9) and the weird thing is that when selected and reviewed in the properties window, it shows the correct color (Cyan) but on the screen it is still grey. One lead to a solution may be that when I cut and pasted the entire drawing (this was the only way I could fix the issue) into a new drawing, the correct colors came back....hmmm, interesting...no, frustrating!

    Thanks,

Could be a situation of viewport color if you're working in layout tabs.

Thank you for responding. I am unfamiliar with the viewport color concept. Can you please expand on this for me?

See attached. Viewport/VP color is just another variable to the layer when you're in viewports of the layout tab and is controlled in the layer properties manager. It's a similar concept to VP Freezing if you know of that.

You can set a color to yellow but go into the viewport of a layout and set that VP color to grey if you don't want that item to display predominately on that page, then you go to the next page and it's yellow on that page because you only updated the color in that specific viewport on the previous page.

What color is it set to plot in the plot style?

If "Display plot styles" is checked in the Page Setup it will display the same color as it's set to plot in the plot style.

Often helpful to know what your plot will look like, I have a macro that toggles it Off/On for that purpose using this lisp by Tim Creary I renamed to ShowPlotStyles to not confuse it with another lisp I use to toggle the background color.
