Default Has Autodesk's new pricing scheme just killed Revit?

My firm is looking to add three more Revit licenses and we've had some major sticker shock with the new pricing. The new AEC Collections being pushed by Autodesk run $2,690 per year compared to our Building Design Suite maintenance cost of about $800 per year. This means the three new licenses we're looking at cost more to maintain every year than our current batch of 15 licenses.

The end result of this is that in 2019 when our maintenance licenses expire we will not be able to afford the forced switch to subscription and will have to stop using Revit. Has anybody else noticed this extreme cost hike and, if so, what are your plans for the future?

Direct comparison to maintenance means you also have to factor in that you are not paying out $x,000 for the initial purchase. Lots of blog posts covering this out there
