Default Dimension left or right inside a set width

    Hi All,

I am working on a door family and need to be able to input a dimension from either the left jamb or right jamb for a reference plane that can move within the width of the door. Currently it is simple to have a parameter that moves the reference plane left or right from just one side, the part that gets tricky is adding another parameter that moves the reference plane left or right from the opposite side. I am thinking there is a formula that can force this to work but i have no idea what it might be. I have attached some screenshots of what I am working on that probably explains is a little better.Distance width.JPG

The only way to do what you are asking is to have a few extra parameters to tell the family what value you want to use. I have attached my example.
Revit does not let you simply have 2 parameters sum to make a 3rd parameter and then let you input values for all 3 as this creates a circular chain of reference.
