At our office, we model stepped footings as a "Structural Stepped Footing" which should match on the schedule with a type that is a typical strip footing in Revit. Of course the parameters for these types don't match, resulting in a number of workarounds with no real internal resolution over the course of a couple of jobs. I have scanned the forums and gotten a few ideas about how to approach the problem but nothing definitive. We are a precast firm, which does in-house architectural and structural. We have made the move to Revit this past year from Autocad, so I am sure there are some basics I might be missing. What are some best practices people have adopted for keeping schedules tight and consistent-especially in the case of foundations?
