Default How to add a cogo point along a 3D polyline at a random point

Is there any way to add a cogo point along a 3D polyline at a random point along the line? I would think that ACAD could do this because internally it knows the 3D line location and the 2 end point elevations. However I cannot find a command for this. I have tried all the create point commands.

The short answer is yes, you should be able to. I'm not familiar with 3D polylines, I work with either polylines or survey figures myself so I know how to work with those, not 3D polys, but I drew one at a 0 elevation, swapped it to 75 in the properties tab and it appeared to give me a line that started at 0 and ran up to 75 over the course of the line. After that I created points with the method shown below in the photos.

Make sure you're snapping to the actual line itself though, not any other object with a zero elevation. Cogo point nodes can be told through a variable (which escapes me) to let you acquire it's elevation or not, so if you're snapping to a cogo point you may not be getting the elevation you want, in that case it'll just give you a zero elevation.

Thanks CC. One way I figured out to do it is to create a feature line then use the Interpolate>Relative Location commands. Sometimes I have to click on the feature line several times to create the point but it works. These commands require line end points, and unfortunately the end points are not picked up from a 3D line but they are from a feature line. Go figure. Autodesk needs to make this much easier.
