Ah, the advantages of coming in late to the game - being able to see where past problems have occurred without actually fixing them, and not having a heap-load of legacy code to maintain.

Autodesk has had 19 years to overcome those difficulties but has lacked the will to do so. It also long ago discarded the people capable of maintaining the VLIDE code, which is why ancient many-times-reported bugs remain. But still, Autodesk could have started again and done something BLADE-like. Given the will.
