Hi folks,
Please excuse my naiveté, I'm really more of an AutoCAD guy. Hoping you can help sort this out.
I have a client who is creating drawings in AutoCAD 2018 (AutoCAD Architecture as AutoCAD). The drawing is in millimeters, UNITS is set properly and INSUNITS is set correctly to 4 (millimeters).
However, when their consultants open the same drawing in Civil3D 2018, the value INSUNITS gets changed to 6 (meters). We can repeat this behavior in house.
Now, all the consultant has to do is set INSUNITS back to 4 in Civil3D and everything is fine, and the setting seems to "stick" when the file is reopened in Civil3D.
But I guess my questions are...
- Why is Civil3D changing the value of INSUNITS on file open?
- Why only the first time the file is opened after being saved in AutoCAD?
- Is there a setting I can tell the consultants to change in Civil3D to stop this behavior?
Thanks everyone.
Any guidance is much appreciated.
