Interpolating Data Shortcut surface

I am in my grading base file with my existing surface data referenced. Its performing just fine. Corridor sections are tying to it.

The only issue I have is when I let the mouse pause to let Civil 3d display current data it will only report the proposed surface.

When I start fine tuning my grading plan that is a feature I use often. Is there a setting to toggle it on?

If you go to the Surface Properties for the existing surface, is "Show Tooltips" turned on? (Lower left corner, Information tab)
