Hello!
Let me explain, until now I was working as an office BIM modeler. I always worked in pre-construction phases and only modeling.
But i'm also a Building Engineer and my company has decided to take the step of taking the all the concepts of BIM to the construction site for construction phases.
Actually in my country (Spain), the world of BIM is not yet fully extended and the top bosses in the company hierarchy really do not know what it's about. They think that there I went alone to keep the model as an as-built.
But the reality is another. I am hand-in-hand with the head of technical office. In addition to follow and implement a work strategy to lock in BIM, I also do many construction plans, details, find constructive solutions to emerging problems, I think about constructive techniques.
I think my official name as BIM modeler has been outdated.
How would you describe or name this new position with which I have met?
Thanks in advance to anyone who contributes ideas or wants to discuss new job profiles that may appear with the development of the BIM.
