    Question Flow direction is changing

Pipes flow directions are changing in AutoCAD Land desktop MAPCLEAN command. Suppose If I dissolve the two pipes which are in the same direction some times the result pipe direction is opposite to the previous direction. Why this is happening?

    Hi Kotesh

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the AutoLISP Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

Are you Simplifying the Geometry when run the command? Snapping clustered nodes? What are your settings in the pipe run editor? D\s to U\s or vica versa? Were your pipes defined using these settings?

    Hi,

I am very glad with your response. ThanQ very much..

Actually the procedure I am following is...

    1. Open a new drawing in AutoCAD Landesktop 2005
    2. Draw a simple LWPOLYLINE with command PLINE with more than 2 vertices say 'A'.
    3. Draw another LWPOLYLINE from the end point(Be sure U must draw from the from the end point only) of 'A' with more than 2 vertices say 'B'.
    4. Go to menu MAP->Tools->Drawing cleanup.
    5. Select objects 'A' and 'B' in the sequence.
    6. In the cleanup actions add 'Dissolve Pseudo Nodes' only.
    7. Press finish.
    8. See the resultant LWPOLYLINE flow direction using PEDIT command.

    Regards,
    Kotesh.

When you define the pipe run, you should see a yellow triangle at each vertice showing you which way the slope i going, Pipes will prompt you if you want to change direction, simply say yes at the prompt to reverse the flow. Or if you already have the pipe run defined, you can go to Conceptual Plan - Reverse Flow to change it after the fact.
