    Default Workspace - Profile

How do I export my workspace to a profile.arg file?

Workspaces and profiles are different things.

Workspaces are saved in the menu (cuix) file.

Profiles are essentially the saved collection of settings in the registry.

Workspaces control which CUI elements are displayed and where. Saved in the main or enterprise CUIX file they may be transferred to another CUIX file.

Copying the CUI files may be what you're trying to accomplish as that would include the workspaces.

I suspected something as what you say. I associated the two into the question because I have started a new job and starting with options in happened to be on the profile tab. I saw several profiles and tried them out. It did seem to change workspace too.

I think my follow up is,

Is a workspace a "setting" of the registry?

No, see rkmcswain's post above about profiles. Profiles have been around much longer than CUI files.

No, a workspace is saved inside the CUIX file.
It's one of the nodes of the cuix format, as shown.

Technically, since a workspace is saved in a menu file, and the name of the current menu file is saved in a 'profile', then you could change workspaces by changing profiles.
But that is kind of overkill.

All of the replies but as tom noted to see post with the image brought it home.
