Post Huge file sizes, cannot world block/purge to reduce size

We are structural engineers having issues with one of our computers. AutoCAD LT 2012 is making files huge / unusable on this particular computer. Purging / World Blocking the drawing results in little to no change in file size, however send the file to another computer and the same commands shrink the file down to almost nothing. It seems the problem computer cannot remove linetypes when purged/world blocked (or even is possibly creating/duplicating linetypes). We have tried re-installing the program on the problem computer, any ideas as to why this might be happening?

    Thanks for you help!

Have or can you check the scale list? I believe the command is scalelistedit.
