Hi...
I am looking for some advice or recomendations for the best practices in modelling services in typical floor multi-story buildings.
In the old 2D world we would have a drawing titled 'TYPICAL FLOOR SERVICES LAYOUT' which would cover multiple floors.
With the information that is needed in a Revit model, EVERY floor has to be modelled.
The obvious methodology would be to model one floor, and once "finished", copy it up / down as many times as required depending on the number of floors.
Sounds easy but doing this:
• Every duct / pipe that connects into a riser will need to be "connected" into the system. Tedious but manageable.
• The process will need to be repeated for every subsequent change, however minor, that needs to be applied to each level. Tedious to say the least.
• Equipment items need to be re-tagged, annotation needs to be individualised etc
Is Grouping the answer? If it is, then how does this work with maintaining connectivity?
Thanks
