Default Automatically Explode Block from Tool Pallet

    Hello,

I'm building a tool pallet for my office and I want to populate it with all the popular cross sections of steel we use. I'd like to have these exploded automatically after clicking and dragging them from the tool pallet. When I right click on the block listed on the pallet, select properties, the cell next to the Explode field is populated with a gray No. I'm assuming changing this to Yes is similar to checking the Explode box on the Insert command but it won't let me change it. Is there a way to have these blocks exploded upon insertion?

Using AutoCAD 2017 on a PC.

    Thanks,

    Matt

I haven't worked with tool palettes in a while, but you may want to check the blocks to make sure they "allow exploding".

    Just a thought.

Yes it was something as simple as that. You have to make sure "Allow Exploding" is checked upon the initial creation. If you create a block and that is left unchecked, the Explode option in the Tool Properties menu for the tool pallet cannot be change. Even if you open the block in the Block Editor and change the Allow Exploding option in the Properties pallet, the tool pallet won't let you explode it automatically upon inserting. Allow Exploding upon initial creation.

    Thanks much!

That's because the initial block saved in the Tool Palette hasn't changed. You need to redo adding it to the Tool Palette after setting it to Allow Exploding.
