    Cool Print xref lighter

Plotting has always been the bane of my AutoCAD journey. I currently use a ctb to plot to a pdf and then plot the pdf to the plotter/printer.

We have architectural files as xrefs and we're putting plumbing on top of that. I have the xrefs on a layer that is color 254 and all the xref layers are also set to color 254.

In the ctb, this is how color 254 is set to print:

I can't change the ctb because I am not the boss of the ctbs we use, so I need to know what setting I can use inside my layer manager or whatever other magic there is for dealing with this without changing the ctb or making a renegade ctb.

I have not attached a screenshot of the layer manager. Let me know which columns are pertinent to this conundrum and I will attach a jpg of a screenshot of how they are currently set.

    Thanks so much, y'all

Unless I missed it, I don't know what the goal is?

You want the xrefs to print lighter? Set the xref colors to a truecolor that is lighter than ACI254, like perhaps 230,230,230

You got it... I only stated it in the subject, oops!

I will try 230,230,230 in the morning.

Thanks so much for helping me out!

Just an FYI: Truecolors are not affected by plot styles so they will always print the same color as they are on the screen.
The exception to that is of course colors can't be printed by B/W printers, so you get the closest approximation of a grey-scale for any non-gray/black color in this situation.
