Default Shear stress formula on the glue between shaft and inner coupling

    Hi,

What would be the basic formula to work out shear stress in the glue joint between tube and coupling inside the tube.
Tubular joint is special case of simple single lap shear in which tau=F/A. In that case area of joint will be pi()*D*length of insert.
But how do I convert torsional load to normal load? Is it just torque/distance from centre of coupling?
    Regards,

    Stan

You posted in the Raster Design forum. RD can't do what you're asking. What software are you using?
