    Default Revit family large size

    Hi,
I made simple of road sign.
But I don't know why, file size is about 6-7 MB, it is made of solids. I must prepare about 20 signs. When I put them into one family, file size is 21 MB, but when I try to use it in project, the project file size rises a lot. And when I try to use this family it takes few minutes because it is loading every time. So I take decided to separate every sign. Then as I mentioned one sign takes 6-7 MB. Someone could explain it? How to reduce file size? I try purge unused, also I use option to compact file when "saving as".

In attachment you can find an example.

How did you make the sign? Simple modeled extrusion with Linework on the surface or did you make it with 3d text? I'm trying to think of any family I've ever made that was that large.

Try look for fonts and then use Model text to represent it. Here is the font I use instead of modeling. It keeps the model size down and when you change the text, it will change the signage. https://www.dafont.com/traffic-signs-tfb.font
