    Default hatch patterns?

I am doing some architectural interior elevations. Has anyone done hatch pattern for wood grain - book matched? Where can you get good hatch patterns?

    Hi CA

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD Tips & Tricks Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

I have asked for help before regarding wood hatch, and will do it again. Please provide information as to where I can get hatch patterns for wood.

    Thank you

    Hi Frank

Please note I have *merged* you new thread into your "old" ( previous ) thread.

Why? - Both are requesting exactly the same information.

    Thanks, Mike

Links to hatch pattern collections (both free and commercial) are at http://www.cadro.com.au/hatchkit/HatLinks.html

To bookmatch I think you will need to find or draw a suitable woodgrain pattern, mirror it to a second pattern and hatch on either side of the line dividing the two leaves with the two patterns.

To mirror a pattern change each pattern element definition line and save into a second custom pattern file (with a new pattern name):

subtract the first value (an angle) from 180
change the sign of the second value (Xorigin) and
change the sign of the fourth value (Xdelta)

--- For example if you had the following simple pattern for the right leaf

    *WOODR,wood grain (right)
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Pattern written by HatchKit Hatch Pattern Editor
    ; HatchKit (c) Cadro Pty Ltd 1990-2005.
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ;-Template=wood,wood grain
    ;-Source =C:\Documents and Settings\...ts\Hatches\Autocad\hatches\woodhatch.pat
    ;-Date =28/03/2006
    ;-Time =3:19:27 PM
    ;-HatchKitVersion=2.5.4.1142
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    18.4349379518,0.4,0,2.21359574,0.31622782,0.63246,-2.5298198
    26.5650366823,0,0.2,1.34164138323,0.447213700128,1.118,-1.11806934917
    36.8698802521,0,0.7,1.4000005957,0.20000006703,0.5,-4.50000256118

--- then the left leaf would be

    *WOODL,wood grain (left)
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Pattern written by HatchKit Hatch Pattern Editor
    ; HatchKit (c) Cadro Pty Ltd 1990-2005.
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ;-Template=WOODR,wood grain
    ;-Source =C:\Documents and Settings\...uments\Hatches\Autocad\hatches\WOODR.PAT
    ;-Date =28/03/2006
    ;-Time =3:19:52 PM
    ;-HatchKitVersion=2.5.4.1142
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    143.130119748, 0,0.7,-1.4000005957,0.20000006703,0.5,-4.50000256118
    153.434963318, 0,0.2,-1.34164138323,0.447213700128,1.118,-1.11806934917
    161.565062048,-0.4,0 ,-2.21359574,0.31622782,0.63246,-2.5298198

You could produce the second pattern by editing the first with a text editor such as Notepad, in MS Excel or by scaling in X by -1 in a suitable program.
