Default Make Autocad start up a little faster.

Here is a trick I found out about from The Mad Cadder blog that speeds up the load time by disabling the digital signature validation.

    1. Right click on the shortcut you use to start AutoCAD, and pick the "Enable/Disable Digital Signature Icon" option.
    2. In the dialog box, uncheck the option.
    3. Restart the computer.

    For AutoCAD LT
    1. Do a search for "AcSignOpt.exe" on your computer.
    2. Uncheck the option in the dialog box.
    3. Restart the computer

I didn't even know this option was available.
This should work for any programs you use on a regular basis.

Another trick to make AutoCAD run a little faster is to set your Anti Virus software to IGNORE AutoCAD extensions like: DWG, LSP, DCL, ARX, CHM, etc

You can also use the "/nologo" switch on your AutoCAD program icon. To find out more, just do a search in the AutoCAD help file and look for "no logo".

    From Mad Cadders site:
What does this do? Well, Autodesk applications loads a shell extension which determines if a file is digitally signed by displaying a specific icon. To determine whether a file is digitally signed, the shell extension looks into each drawing file before displaying it. If a folder contains many drawings, like your template folder, it will take longer to open.
