Family Creation Question, just can't figure it out?

Guys,

I need a little help, I'm using RUGI's tips and tricks tutorial for Building Compenents:

I've figured out everything EXCEPT how to anchor the trusses to the brackets. When I check my work in the Family Types and make the WIDTH smaller or larger, the trusses do not stay anchored to the wall bracket. Heights and depths work fine, it's just the width? I know I need to anchor the trusses so they move with the brackets, but how? Need help.

First guess is that the trusses are not anchored to the reference planes that move the brackets.

Edit the truss and check that the sketch lines are aligned and locked to the correct reference planes.

If thats not it, post the rfa file.

Thanks for the reply beegee, the sketch lines are aligned with the reference planes but I don't how to "lock" sketch lines to the reference planes.

Here's the file. Ithink it should work OK now.

I edited the sweep profile for the two end trusses so that the profile has a dimension from the outside face to the ref plane and then to the other face, which is locked in both cases (1/2" -1/2" ). This means the profile is locked to the ref plane and the ref plane ia parametric of course.

Is there any chance you can save it in verison 5.0? I can't open it. If not, no problem, I'll just download 6.0.

I tried what you said, but I still have a "constraint" error. Damn.

I'm usually pretty good figuring this stuff out.

Beegee, just figured it out! I was dimensioning to the sweep, not the profile. Thanks for your help!

Why are you still using 5.0 ?

The file I posted was in 5.1, not 6.0. FWIW.
