Importing excel into AutoCAD 2006 & 2005

I am now trying to work on some of the things that I learned at AU. I am trying to import an excel spreadsheet into AutoCAD 2006 I have set up excel (office 2000) like the class at AU2004 had suggested in the Ups and Downs of Tables in AutoCAD 2005 class. I cannot get the cells to come over as they look in excel. All the widths and heights come in the same across the whole table, and any cells that I have merged in excel do not come into Acad table merged. Confused to the max. Any advise would be appreciated greatly.

Ok, here is a sample excel file of a panel schedule that I would like to import into a AutoCAD 2006 drawing. I am using Excel-Office 2000 and AutoCAD 2006. I have discovered that importing from Excel-Office 2003 works better, but we do not have Excel-Office 2003 on our cad machines. I will need to find some time to test further on the engineer's machine when he is not using it. Any help with the Excel-Office 2000 version would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you answered your own question. That was what I ws going to test. There were some improvements in Excel XP & 2003 in regards to AutoCAD interoperablity.

okay kind of the same topic so i will see if i can get help here... But we are coming from Excel 2003 into 2006 AutoCAD. Does AutoCAD 2006 read excel formulas?

I am having a hard time reading the formulas. AutoCAD just reads out the formula the way it is written and not actually formulating it.

Okay we found the answer... It has to be a simplified formula. We had one that AutoCAD just couldn't read... Had too many "if'''s in there.
