Are you talking about windows explorer, or the explorer view in the sheets tab of PN?
the explorer view in the sheets tab. some of the files have a little shortcut arrow on them, some don't.
Well, first is the actual file name "A-100"Originally Posted by mf
Next is what "A-100" is named in the sheet set. When they started with this file linking, once you named a sheet "a-100" that was going to be it's name for the rest of it's life (unless you deleted it and started over)(or so I'm told) So If at some point in time you re-named "a-100" to "a-101" A-100 is still the file name (first on the list) and a-101 would be listed underneath.
Example 2
Lets say you were doing details. You could start your sheet with out numbers ie call them cladding details 1, 2,...... or 1st flr plan a, b, c, ...... and not worry about what the number ever was until the end. Then at the end, you can change the name in the sheet set manager to get your drawings in order. The long and the short of it is that you can have 2 different names for the same sheet. One is actual, the other is just stored in the .dst sheet set file.
Hope that helps
Let me re-phrase that a little bit.
You can only re-name the file in the explorer view.
You can only re-name the "sheet set link" in the sheet set view.
ie if you need to change the name of a sheet you have to do it in 2 spots.
Sorry for the confusion.
But anyway.....
The top in the explorer view is the file name on the server.
The lower is the "sheet set link" name for the .dst file.
