AcadMap3D 2005 Slow startup

A recent upgrade from AcadMap2004 has highlited a problem with 2 of our computers,The hardware is well above min spec reqd. 1 running WinXP SP1 the other Win2000 SP4 both 1Gig ram and 2plus Mhz processor
they both take an age to start Autocad ,both sticking at the "regenerating model" stage the XP version being a bit quicker 2 to 3 mins not uncommon.the other 11 machines we upgraded have no problem. neither of the 2 machines had any problem with 2004
has anybody any ideas which way to go next. i'm even contemplating re-installing the operating system.
