What is the format you have them in?
Jeremiah
Jeremiah,
I have them in Tiger Format.
Thanks nathan.
I think he might have been angling for the file extension.Originally Posted by k_senthilnathan

Right, format is king. Go to this link and download the TIGER to SHP translator:
http://software.geocomm.com/translators/arcview/
I have never done this but I have used the STDS to DEM translator with great success. Once the TIGER files are in SHP format use the standard Map>> Tools>> Import too to bring in the data (be sure to create data in the import dialog box).
Hope this helps,
Jeremiah
Jeremiah,
Thanks for your help. I got Tiger files converted.
Now I have another question which I hope you could help me answer. I have SDTS files (.DDF files) and I want to convert it to .dxf file. I downloaded the sdts2dxf exe from the geocomm website. But the program doesn't seem to work. When I run the exe it asks me to enter the first 4 letter of the base file name, the lat 2 digt of the base file name( layer no), and base putput file name. when i enter the values and run the exe it closes down and dosen't write any output. You said you have converted SDTS to DEMS using similsr routines, how did you do it?
Thanks
Nathan
Did you ever figure out how to convert those SDTS (DDF) files to dxf? I have the trouble.
The easiest way to use the STDS converter is place the STDS files in their own folder, download the converter in Jeremiah's link and place it in the same folder as the STDS files. Then in windows explorer browse to that folder and run the converter's exe. Everything runs in the "DOS" command window, follow the prompts. Just enter the last 4 digits of the SDTS files, then take the defaults for the rest. That should create the shp,shx and dbf files for the ESRI shape file in the same folder, that you can then import into AutoCAD Map3D.
