Does Map>> Tools>> Boundary Trim do what you are looking for?

No, it doesn't. (Thank goodness for the Undo command!!!)
    Cookie cutter just trims the entities which crosses the selection polygon;
Boundary Trim removes every entity which isn't in (or outside of) the selection polygon.

How about the FENCE option in trim.

Start TRIM>> Select the items you want for TRIM boundaries and enter>> Type F enter

    Let me know,

The EXTRIM command works great for me still.

EXTRIM is ok, but it doesn't delete all the entities that don't cross the area you are trimming to. Or am i dreaming ???
Used to find it very useful when trimming to a small area in a thumping great big survey drawing.

Extrim is fine - alone, in Autocad 2005 I somewhat managed to
    create my own shortcut...
    In 2006 when opening "cui"-"Command List"-Express commands"-
a lot of Express Commands are shown, "Extrim" is missing.

Are all or just some of the Express commands Lisp routines?
"Extrim" is identified as such in the Express tools "help" file...
    Does this explain anything?

To make it short: any idea how I can avoid typing "Extrim" in the command line all the
time? Did I miss a fanciful Autodesk tool that renders "Extrim" obsolete?

    thanks,

    Felix

About half the rest are ARX.

It probably helps. The lisp routine will probably still work in 2010, an ARX would not. Save a copy of the lisp in case it's not included in the future.

Add it to a custom CUI.
I've added it to my custom toolbar using the origional EXTRIM.bmp attached. In case anyone wants it.

No. At least they didn't take it away, they just left it off the menu.
